Can your websites be hosted anywhere?
As long as your hosting provider meets a few simple requirements, you can host our Eco template anywhere you wish. Our Pro templates must be hosted with Photoidentities. At $99/year our hosting is the best value for money for quality hosting in the business.
What is the difference between the Original version of Site Composer and the Full Screen version?
The Original version displays your images in a 900×600 pixel size with your choice of border around the website as well as a background texture or plain colored background. On a 1024×768 resolution monitor (the most popular setting), the images will take up most of the user’s screen, with the border around it and some of the textured background. On higher res monitors, more of the background will show, with the images centered on the screen.The Full Screen version does not have any borders or background because the entire image takes up the size of the user’s screen. if the user has a large monitor and resizes the browser window, the images will resize themselves proportionately to fill the screen edge to edge. Vertical images will fill the screen from top to be bottom and be horizontally centered.
What makes your templates better than other photography template companies’ websites?
Our templates have the look of a custom website. They are extremely professional-looking but do not have the “canned” feel that many other website templates have. In addition, our Site Composer templates have the advantage of being many template designs rolled into one. So for one great price you’re getting virtually limitless possibilities as to the way your website can look. And the best part is you have control over it any time, any place.
Do I need special software or technical knowledge to use your templates?
Absolutely not. Our editing interface for the Eco templates and control panel for Site Composer are drag-and-drop, point-and-click. We are constantly being told by our clients how unbelievably easy it is for them to upload images, change text and rearrange elements of their website.
Once I purchase my website, how long before I can start editing it?
Once you’ve purchased your website, we should have it set up and ready for you to start editing within 1-4 business days.
How do I go live with my website once I’m ready?
It is simply a matter of logging into your domain name registrar account and editing the DNS info. We will tell you how to do this – it’s very simple. 100% of our clients have had their websites go live within hours of contacting us to say they were ready.
When does my hosting period with you start?
Your hosting period starts on the day we set up your website – whether in test mode or live mode. You will be billed again for hosting on the first of the month, 12 months after the day your site was set up for you.
What if I need a font other than the ones you provide on the template?
No problem. Just send us your desired font (in TTF format) and we will embed it into your website for you. (applies to Pro Sites only).
Do you put a credit to Photoidentities on Pro Sites?
Yes we do. If people like your site, they will be able to contact us easily. However, if you would like the credit removed from your site, we can do that for an additional charge of $100.
If I have a problem do you have a help desk to call or are all issues handled through email?
Email or phone are both fine.
I find that my photos look different on my site than they do prior to uploading them. The color is a bit off.
For the web, you may need to oversaturate your images as the web does not use the same color gamut as your computer would. A google search on this topic brings up a lot of useful information.
My website has been up for a few days and I was wondering why, when I type my name into any search engine or type my website name into the search engine, nothing comes up. Do I have something set up wrong on my website or is there something I am not doing?
Our Pro Sites are search-engine ready and will get indexed by Google and the other search engines as long as you fill out the SEO fields in the control panel. However, it can take up to a month for this process to occur.
BLOGS
Can I transfer the posts from my existing blog over to a Photoidentities blog?
You can do that very easily!! Most other popular blogs can be transferred over to a Photoidentities (Wordpress-based) blog.
How customizable is a blog?
You can change colors, fonts, logo and textures out yourself via the Wordpress admin panel. You can also add unlimited pages and drop-downs.
GENERAL
Once I start hosting my website with you, can I keep my domain name?
Of course! You can keep your existing domain name and email accounts. It will all get transferred over to our hosting in one easy step.
How do I track traffic to my website?
We recommend signing up for a free Google Analytics account. Register at www.google.com/analytics and they will give you a short code snippet. For your Pro Site, simply paste that snippet into the provided box in the Site Composer control panel and you’re good to go! For blogs and pro-blogs, we will provide simple instructions on how to activate your Google Analytics.
Why don’t your sites have X feature yet?

Why does my logo on my website have a border around it?
We recommend you upload your logo on a transparent background as a PNG file. This will preserve the transparency and make the logo appear to float on the page instead of being surrounded by a white box.
